design, this imposing ensemble
is an elegant example of the
XIX century naturalist style
of ornament. The surprising
combination of basketwork and
dragon’s feet is characteristic of
this style. These jardinieres are
used by the Royal Horticultural
Society at Wisley. See diagrams
